Technological development: Shared Korean experience
The 8th edition of the South Korea-Cameroon Economic Forum held on 9 April 2019 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. In less than half a century, South Korea has moved from an aid recipient country to a donor country. Therefore, Cameroon wants to build its emergence by 2035 on the South Korean experience. Both countries have thus come together under a platform to achieve this goal. This is the Korea-Cameroon economic cooperation forum that has just held its 8th edition. "The objective of the forum is to explore new bilateral partnership opportunities to identify targeted strategies for new areas to be discovered. Korea is ready to share its economic development experiences with Cameroon and to invest more in Cameroon as the most faithful and reliable partner," Korea Ambassador to Cameroon Bok-Ryeol Ryou said.
It is noteworthy that Korea and Cameroon have diplomatic relations since 1961, and have developed many large-scale bilateral projects in the areas of energy, health, vocational training, ICTs, etc. Cameroon intends to continue to boost these exchanges. "The Korean experience should be explored and certainly used to support Cameroon's development strategy to make our country an emerging country by 2035. This is why a conglomerate like Samsung is operating in the fields of ICT'', Alamine Ousmane Mey, Cameroon Minister in charge of the Economy who attended the meeting said.
