International trade operators very often face enormous difficulties with regard to access to useful information in the exercise of their activities. Publication, availability and accessibility of information relating to national and international trade thus become not only determining factors of market attractiveness, but also vectors of trade facilitation.
The Trade Facilitation Agreement adopted by the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in December 2013, which entered into force on 22 February 2017, in its article 1 requires member States to create enquiry points to address the requests of traders and other international trade operators. This agreement was ratified by Cameroon with Decree N° 2016/210 of 25 April 2016 signed by the President of the Republic.
The Cameroon National Shippers’ Council (CNSC), an administrative public establishment whose primary objective is to organise shippers and promote Cameroon’s foreign trade, considers itself concerned in the first place by the implementation of the above measure.
The main objective of the Cameroon Trade Hub is to provide users, investors and any other interested person with information relating to foreign trade and international transport in the Republic of Cameroon.
