Cooperation: Assistance from China
Cameroon’s Minister of the Economy Planning and Territorial Development, Mr. Louis- Paul MOTAZE and the Chinese Ambassador in Cameroon, HE Wei WENHUA on 22 September 2017 in Yaounde, signed an agreement in international trade facilitation in Cameroon. From the statistics provide by the Chinese Embassy in Cameroon, trade between these two countries has reached a value of 2.6 billion US Dollars in 2015 which is 1460 billion CFAF, making China the first Cameroon trade partner.
The said project carried out by EXIMBANK CHINA and evaluated at 19.5 billion aims at improving the business environment in Cameroon through the putting in place of a platform for services and general information for the management of standards, quality and various international trade operations. Through this vital project, economic operators could have access to general information on international trade that would push up Cameroon’s foreign trade.
According to the Cameroon minister of the Economy, Planning and territorial Development Mr. Louis- Paul MOTAZE, the said agreements fully show China’s willingness to strengthen economic and technical cooperation between our two countries.
