CWEIC: Indian investors meet traders in Douala

On 23 September 2024, investors from the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) and the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) held a series of meetings with business persons in the economic capital of Cameroon.

These meetings took place at the head office of the Cameroon Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Crafts (CCIMC), and provided an opportunity to explore potential avenues for strengthening trade relations between Cameroon and India, creating new business partnerships and gaining a better understanding of local market trends.

The Douala meeting is a continuation of those held on 20 September 2024 between the Indian delegation and the heads of several ministries, under the coordination of Mr. Auguste Mbappe Penda, Chairman of the Cameroon-Gabon-Togo CWEIC HUB.

The highlight of the B2B meetings was the presentation of CCIMC's Pilot Incubation Centre (PIC), a flagship project which provides assistance to budding entrepreneurs engaged in the transformation of local products, in line with the import-substitution policy advocated by the government of Cameroon. This initiative was greatly admired by the Indian investors who pledged to further collaborate with CCIMC.
