EPA

A delegation from the United Kingdom led by H.E. Barry Lowen was received in audience on 19 August 2024 in Yaoundé by the Minister of Trade, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana.  The meeting, held on the eve of the second statutory session of the Cameroon-United Kingdom Bilateral Economic Partnership Agreement Committee (Cameroon-United Kingdom Bilateral EPA), provided an opportunity to take stock of the major issues at stake in trade relations between the two countries.

One of the main points discussed was the state of negotiations and the implementation of the Bilateral EPA, which aims to boost post-Brexit trade.

Cameroon's Trade Minister reaffirmed the country's commitment to facilitating bilateral trade, while identifying potential obstacles to its development. These obstacles will be at the heart of discussions at the second statutory session of the Bilateral EPA Committee.
